We provide a wide range of dynamic speech therapy services with care and concern for children and adults. We believe that speech therapy is most effective in a non-pressured, friendly environment – your home! We take pride in assisting our clients to reach their goals and potential. Our talented speech therapists (RASP certified) provide treatment for autism, apraxia, tongue thrusts, lisps, language delays, learning disabilities, processing difficulties, accent reduction, brain injuries and other communication disorders. Our services include helping someone who has:
  • Autism or Asperger’s Syndrome
  • Apraxia / Oral-motor muscle weakness
  • Learning disability
  • Processing difficulty

  • Unclear speech / lisp
  • Incorrect swallow (tongue thrust)

We can assess:

We assess using:
  • Standardized tests (that give scores)
  • Non-standardized tests (that give descriptions)
  • Questionnaires
  • Reports from clients, parents, and teachers
  • Reports from other professionals
  • Language samples
  • Informal observations
During therapy sessions, we may:
  • Use objects, pictures, or text to help the client use correct speech sounds and language
  • Play games that target therapy goals or keep the client motivated
  • Change the difficulty of a task, depending on the client’s success with it
  • Vary the speech or language goals in a session, to keep the client interested

Our Speech Pathologists

Shira Meltzer

Shira has been a speech-language pathologist since 2000. She has worked with children of varying ages in preschool clinics, schools, and private practice settings. Shira speaks English as well as some Spanish.

Her specialties include speech sound therapy, tongue/lip/jaw strengthening, and language therapy for preschool and school-aged children who have autism or other challenges. Shira received her Master of Speech-Language Pathology degree from Lehman College (NYC), and her Bachelors of Arts in Speech pathology from Queens College. She is a certified member of the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and the BC Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists. She is registered by the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia and is on the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP) list.

Jennifer Kroeker

Jennifer has been a speech-language pathologist since 1999. She has worked 
with children and adults in schools as well as hospitals. Jennifer’s specialties 
include speech sound therapy, tongue/lip/jaw strengthening, and language 
therapy for children or adults who have autism, brain injuries, or other 
challenges. She is also trained in myofunctional therapy. Jennifer received her Master of Speech-Language Pathology degree from the University of British Columbia, as well as her Bachelors of science in Speech pathology. She is a certified member of the Canadian Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and the BC Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists. She is registered by the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of British Columbia and is on the Registry of Autism Service Providers (RASP) list
